Britians resources were drained after French and Indian War. They put heavy taxes on the colonies, in attempt to gain back some money. In 1765, the Stamp Act was started. Colonists were taxed on all legal documents, and they got very angry and protested. The Stamp Acts were repealed. Because of taxation of tea, colonists were angered again. This time they through boxes of tea into the Boston Harbor. (Boston Tea Party) Britian then set the Intolerable Acts into place. A Continental Congress was set up by the angered colonists, to figure out which action to take. This all led up to the fighting that began the Revolutionary War!!!
